The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 51 in Nelson is proud to recognize our Events Chairperson and Member at Large, Wayne Vienneau, (right) as the recipient of the 2026 Legionnaire of the Year Award.

Presented by Branch President Bill Haire (left) on May 3, 2026, the award honours Wayne’s outstanding volunteer dedication and commitment to the branch and its members.

Throughout the year, Wayne consistently stepped in wherever help was needed, taking on extra duties, bringing in a variety of entertainment, organizing events, and contributing countless hours to support the Legion and the community. His reliability, leadership, and willingness to lend a hand have made a significant impact to our local Legion.

Branch 51 congratulates Wayne Vienneau and thanks him for his exceptional service and continued dedication.
