Memorial Plaque Dedication to Honour Veterans of the Gulf and Afghanistan Wars

The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 51 invites members of the public to attend a special Memorial Plaque Dedication Ceremony on Saturday, June 27 at 11:00 AM at the Nelson Cenotaph.

The ceremony will unveil new memorial plaques recognizing and honouring the service and sacrifice of Canadian Armed Forces members who served during the Gulf and Afghanistan wars. The dedication serves as an opportunity for the community to come together in remembrance, reflection, and gratitude for those who answered the call to serve.

Veterans, serving members, families, community organizations, and residents are encouraged to attend and pay tribute to the courage and commitment of Canada’s military personnel.

The event will take place outdoors at the cenotaph located at 310 Ward Street in Nelson. Attendees are encouraged to arrive a few minutes early.
